Temperature Measurement in-SITU (ISTMT)
It is the temperature of the LED source casing within the LED system (luminaire or lamp) while it is working in its intended location and/or environment (In "SITUation"). The measurement is made at the temperature measuring point (Tc Point) specified by the manufacturer of the LED package.
ISTMT is a thermal measurement of the LED source chip included inside the LED luminaire or lamp when fitted according to the manufacturer's specifications. The measurement is made using the temperature measuring point (TMP) specified by the manufacturer of the LED package as Tc or Ts.
ISTMT is used to calculate lifetimes based on TM-21 calculations and should be used in combination with the LM-80 test report.
Our in-situ temperature measurement test (ISTMT) report is based on a single sample and is done in compliance with Annex A of IES LM-84-14.
The LM-79 standard evaluates the performance of devices that include solid-state lighting (SSL) technology, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This testing captures performance under defined operational circumstances at a certain moment in time.
