How to choose LED Street Light ?
There are several varieties of led street lights on the market that come with a five-year or three-year guarantee; will they keep their promises? While some honest and competent companies are capable of doing so, others are unable to do so owing to a lack of familiarity with the techniques. When purchasing led street lights, how can we determine if the price is justified by the quality? We should examine it from four perspectives.
Aluminum shell
As we all know, led street lights generate an excessive amount of heat during operation. At this point, the aluminum casing must dissipate the heat or the leds' lifetime would be shortened. The aluminum shell's primary role is cooling. Typically, there are two types of aluminum shells available on the market: 6063 aluminum and die-casting ADC12 aluminum. 6063 aluminum has a thermal conductivity of 201, whereas ADC12 has a thermal conductivity of 96. For the same kind of aluminum shell, a heavier weight indicates a greater quality; for the same type of aluminum shell with the same weight, a larger heat dissipation area indicates a higher quality. In general, after 6-8 hours of operation, if the aluminum shell temperature is less than 55 degrees, the quality is acceptable; if the temperature is less than 45 degrees, the quality is good.
LEDs
In terms of leds, the larger the chip size, the higher the quality. If the led street light is greater than 100W, it is recommended to use a chip from a reputable company such as Bridgelux, Philips, or Osram. It is preferable to use golden line and copper bracket as the encapsulating materials for leds. The thicker the golden line, the better.

Regarding the lumen output of each led, typically, a 1W led's lumen output is classified as follows: 100-20lm, 120-130lm, 130-140lm, and 140-150lm; of course, the greater the lumen output, the better.
Driver
If the street light power exceeds 100W, it is preferable to use a well-known brand driver with a high efficiency and PF rating, such as Meanwell or Philips, or another well-known brand with a 5-year warranty, because their quality is more stable and their maintenance cost is relatively low once a problem occurs.
Power
Strictly speaking, the true power of the led street light should be somewhat more than the rated power, since their output will be reduced slightly after many hours of operation.
