In many aspects, high bay LED lights outperform traditional lighting solutions including metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and fluorescent bulbs. Reduced operating and maintenance expenses. Four to forty times longer than their traditional equivalents, LEDs have a lifetime of more than 100,000 hours.
Three, five, or even seven wires often protrude from the casing of high bay LED light fixtures. Black and white are always the power lines, whereas green is always the ground wire. High bay lights with five wires may be dimmed from 0 to 10 volts. Seven wire high bay lights are designed to work with 12v controllers. Most of the time, the wires are labeled so that you can distinguish between those for 0-10v dimming and those for 12v controls.
Currently, LED high bay lights output between 120 and 160 luminaire lumens per watt (LPW) with Kelvin values between 3000K and 5700K. The Kelvin of the LEDs, their efficiency, the milliamps of the driver, and the optics all affect how many lumens are produced. Lumens per watt multiplied by total watts equal lumens. The number of footcandles of light that are dispersed around the work area, where the light is required, is what counts. The mounting height of the high bay light and the optics utilized in the high bay light are other factors in determining footcandles (FC), in addition to the total lumens output.
