The solar controller of Mklights employs a photocell and/or timer to regulate when the light turns on, when the sun sets, and when it turns off when the sun rises. The photocell determines when the sun sets and when it rises again. Mklights can make the lamp last anywhere between 8 and 14 hours, depending on the customer's demands. The solar controller uses an inbuilt timer with a predetermined number of hours to decide when to turn off the light. If the solar controller is programmed to leave the light on until sunrise, it decides when the sun rises (and when to turn off the light) based on the solar panel array's voltage measurements.
