Low bay lights are typically designed for usage in ceilings with a height of fewer than 20 feet from the floor. Low bay ceilings are the most frequent style of ceiling seen in residences, retail establishments, and public buildings.
Low bay fixtures are only compatible with ceilings between 12 and 20 feet in height. High bay lighting can illuminate ceilings between 20 and 45 feet in height. The illumination strengths also vary. Low bay illumination is less than 100 watts, and high bay illumination may exceed 100 watts.
The mounting height is the most noticeable difference between low bay and high bay lights. LED low bays are intended for installation at heights of up to 8 meters. Historically, a low bay was likely the rectangular "white box" that you are more used to seeing in factories, but a high bay was a pendant-style high bay in which the physical features were disregarded.
