1. Mercury vapor lamp lumens
Mercury vapor lamp efficiency is below 60 lumens per watt, necessitating regular replacement. A standard mercury vapor lamp of 1,000 watts may generate up to 58,000 lumens.
After 5,000 hours, the lumen output of the light source decreases dramatically. Thus, almost any LED stadium light will suffice. Even the most affordable 400-watt LED lamps of 5,8000 lumens.
2. Common wattage of LED stadium lighting to replace mercury vapor lamps
Typically, mercury vapor lamps are replaced with LED stadium lighting with at least half the power. If you are unable to compute the lumen output of an old mercury vapor lamp, the bulb should be replaced. Please verify the screw base for the wattage rating. When replacing a 2,000-watt mercury vapor lamp with LED stadium lights, over 1,000 watts are required.
3. Color temperature Choose
Mercury vapor stadium lighting gives a blue light. Technically referred to as color temperature. Select a cool white light with a color temperature more fabulous than 5500K when using LED stadium lighting. Most sports lighting specifications, such as FIFA's, advise against exceeding a color temperature of 7000K.

HPS lights adequately illuminate most spaces. The brightness of the majority of commercial 1000-watt high-pressure sodium lights ranges between 110000 and 130000. Since the introduction of LED lighting, most manufacturers have ceased production of high-wattage HPS bulbs.
2. Common wattage for LED stadium lighting in place of HPS
LED stadium lighting technology often outperforms HPS lighting technology. The latest generation of LED upgrades offers the sports sector a more dependable solution. Typically, 600W LED stadium lights replace 1000W HPS lights. Due to LED stadium lights' reduced heat output, improved placement is also achievable.
3. CRI (color rendering index)
Among the several downsides of HPS is a poor color rendering index. It would be difficult to locate an HPS lamp with a color rendering index greater than 40. CRI provides an indication of how a lighted item really appears. The greater the lighting impact, the higher the CRI value. For broadcast class matches, you must offer high-powered stadium lights with a minimum of 90CRI. Therefore, the outdated HPS lights must be replaced with efficient LED stadium lights.
4. By replacing HPS stadium lights with LED lights, ballasts are eliminated.
Before removing and replacing the high-pressure sodium bulbs with LED stadium lights, they must be cooled and bypassed by the ballast. First, turn the power off. Most LED stadium lighting eliminates the need for ferromagnetic ballasts and igniters. Simply cut the live and neutral connections and adhere to the manual operating instructions provided by the manufacturer. In general, just the input live wire and the input null wire must be connected to their corresponding output lines.
